The Pro Musicis Foundation, established in 1965 to nurture the careers of young recitalists, held its 30th Anniversary Gala on Tuesday night at Lincoln Center in New York. The concert included an appearance by pianist and Pro Musicis board member Byron Janis, who now performs only rarely because of arthritis in his hands. From the concert, we'll hear Janis play two pieces by Chopin: the Nocturne No. 18 in E and the Grande Valse Brillante, Op. 18, as well as his own composition, "David's Star." (NPR)
