Thomas Binkley, One Of The

Thomas Binkley, one of the founders of the early music movement in this country, died April 28th at the age of 63. In a personal and professional tribute to him, PT commentator Thomas Kelly of the Harvard University Music Department recalls the contributions that Binkley, himself a professor of music and director of the Early Music Institute at Indiana University, made to our understanding of medieval music and to the influence he exercised in bringing into the 20th century while remaining true to its historical origins.
