Transfer news with three Man Utd moves as Liverpool signings imminent
Time is quickly running out for Premier League clubs to conclude their summer transfer business with only 11 days remaining of the window. Over £2billion has been spent by teams in England's top flight, but that figure will increase significantly with Liverpool potentially spending near £200m to bolster their attack, while Manchester City could even beat that as they plot multiple signings to replace outgoing players like Rodri, Nico Gonzalez and Savinho.
Arsenal have been busy this summer and wrapped up a move for Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa in a £55m deal on Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, north London rivals Tottenham are trying to wrap up a double deal for Savinho and Omar Marmoush which could cost them up to £150m, having already spent massively for Roberto De Zerbi. Their splash of over £220m is still not as much as that of their London rivals, Chelsea, the division's biggest spenders at nearly £350m.
We are going to bring our live coverage of all the latest transfer news to a close now.
You can keep up to date with all the latest transfer news right here.
Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin has been speaking about Julian Alvarez.
Gil Marin and his side have been steadfast in their stance that the player, a transfer target for Arsenal, is not for sale.
"We are going to help Julian and continue to take care of him so that he can give us his full potential," Gil Marin has said tonight.
"Because we need him to continue competing among the greats of Europe."
Liverpool have reportedly had another bid for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh.
It was reported on Thursday night that the Reds had a £50m bid rejected for the former Newcastle player.
Now, The Athletic claim that the Reds have upped their offer by £10m, but that is still not enough for Brighton.
The Seagulls are reported to want £70m for the Gambia international.

Interesting reports in the French press that claim Arsenal are considering a move for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen.
Foot Mercato report that the Gunners will only countenance a move for Osimhen if the Nigerian international agrees to a sensible contract.
Amid claims that Arsenal are looking to offload Viktor Gyokeres to Atletico Madrid as part of a move for Julian Alvarez, it is actually claimed that Mikel Arteta's side see Osimhen being signed as competition for the Swede
Fabrizio Romano reports that Strasbourg have 'agreed' a deal to sign Deivid Washington on a permanent deal from Chelsea.
Washington only signed for the Blues from Brazilian side Santos in 2023, penning a huge seven-year contract with the club.
The 21-year-old returned to Santos on loan last year and now it appears there is no long-term future for him at Stamford Bridge.
Fulham have completed the signing of Celtic youngster Erskine Rennie.
Rennie, who has signed for the west London club on a scholarship agreement, had been with Celtic since Under-9 level.
"It feels really good to sign for Fulham," he said. "It's good to get it done and I just want to get started and play my first games.
"A London club, with the history of Fulham, with the reputation of the academy, it was a no-brainer to sign here.
"I'm an attacking player. My first thought is always to beat my man, use my pace, get balls in the box, attack, attack, attack."
Leeds United have had a loan bid for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk turned down.
It was reported earlier this afternoon that the Whites are keen on a move for the Ukraine international.
Now, Daniel Farke's side have seen their first approach for the player knocked back.
Mudryk is back in the fold at Chelsea after a considerable time on the sidelines.
However, a move away looks almost certain as he bids to return to match fitness and so Chelsea can see what player they have on their hands after almost two years out.
Arsenal have completed a move for Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa.
The 28-year-old defender as signed what the Gunners call a 'long-term' contract with the club following his £55m switch from Villa.
"Ezri is a defender of high quality, whose athleticism, composure and tactical intelligence have established him as one of the Premier League’s most consistent performers," Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta said.
"Being comfortable in both central defence and at right-back, Ezri will bring valuable versatility to our squad while maintaining the high defensive standards which are fundamental to our challenge of winning major trophies."
Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal made contact with Atletico Madrid in the last few days to discuss the conditions of a deal to sign Julian Alvarez.
Arsenal chiefs met with Atletico director Mateu Alemany in London.
But the price for the Argentine is too high and the player himself has not opened the door to a Premier League return.
Leeds United are exploring a loan move for Chelsea winger Mykhyalo Mudryk.
The Ukrainian has been cleared to play again after his doping ban was resolved.
And Ben Jacobs say Leeds are considering a move for Mudryk but nothing is advanced as it stands.
The player is open to moving to Elland Road for the season with talks ongoing.
Atletico Madrid are willing to sell Julian Alvarez to Arsenal but the striker wants to join Barcelona.
That's according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
Barca had a bid of around £86million rejected for the Argentine attacker earlier this summer.
The Gunners also like the former Manchester City man but Alvarez wants to stay in Spain and join Barca.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone said earlier this month that the player's future has been settled and he will stay in Madrid for another season.
But Los Rojiblancos would now apparently be willing to sell Alvarez to a foreign club like Arsenal.
It's even claimed Simeone would consider a swap deal involving Arsenal No.9 Viktor Gyokeres.
Andoni Iraola has repeated that he wants more new signings at Liverpool before the window closes - especially out wide.
Bradley Barcola, Yankuba Minteh and Ibrahim Mbaye are all active targets for the Reds.
The Liverpool manager said in his pre-match press conference...
As a manager, this is easy. I want the players for the first day [of training], 13th of July, all the positions filled.
But you understand how the competition works. The market is open. We have to adapt as coaches to these situations.
These 10 days that we have, there's a lot of uncertainty, not just in Liverpool but everywhere.
Honestly I don't spend too much time thinking on these things. I am focused on Newcastle. It is massive for me, using the very good players we have right now in the building in the best way so we can be competitive from the beginning.
You know, we cannot speak about players that aren't ours. I understand the questions.
Some situations are clear - on the wing, we don't have enough players to play in those specific situations. Other positions, we have to be open minded to situations that can improve our team.
It is about improving the squad and we have very good players already here. We need a specific level of player [for them to join us].
Andoni Iraola has admitted he wanted to keep Curtis Jones, who is due to join Inter Milan imminently from Liverpool.
It appears the player has forced his way out of Anfield, where he had entered the final 12 months of his contract.
Speaking in a press conference just now, Iraola said...
Yes [I wanted to keep him] Curtis is a good player but I understood this.
He is coming for some years in the same situation, so I knew from that moment it could happen (he would leave).
Chelsea are anticipating an approach from Aston Villa for Nicolas Jackson, who they value at £65million.
Atletico Madrid are currently favouring a loan deal and Chelsea only want a permanent sale.
Villa are seen as the most realistic club to try and sign Jackson permanently, per The Telegraph.
Unai Emery has long been interested in reuniting with the Senegal striker as Saudi giants Al-Hilal try to sign Ollie Watkins, having had a bid of £45m rejected by the Villans.
Emery and Jackson worked together at Villarreal and the centre-forward is reportedly open to working with the Spanish coach once more.
Aston Villa are interested in signing exiled Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo to replace Ezri Konsa, according to Sky Sports.
Tosin is one of the options that Villa are weighing up after a £51million deal was agreed with Arsenal to let Konsa leave.
Chelsea are willing to listen to offers but there is also interest from Marseille, Benfica and Sevilla for the defender.
West Ham have completed the signing of Divine Mukasa on a season-long loan from Manchester City. The talented 18-year-old, born in Newham, returns to east London, where he spent 10 years as a schoolboy with the Hammers. He won the FA Youth Cup with the Irons in 2023 before departing for City.
West Ham United is delighted to announce the signing of Divine Mukasa on a season-long loan from Manchester City 🤝
Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from West Ham.
The DR Congo defender joins on loan to become Villa's sixth signing of the summer.
Tottenham and Aston Villa remain potential suitors for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who is up for sale and expected to move, per Fabrizio Romano.
The Senegal striker is poised to leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis over the coming days.
Villa will make a move if Ollie Watkins joins Al-Hilal while Atletico Madrid are also in talks.
Tottenham and Napoli asked about Jackson but wanted loan moves, which Chelsea will not accept.
Curtis Jones is in Italy to complete a £30million move from Liverpool to Inter Milan.
England international Jones is currently undergoing his medical and is expected to sign a five-year contract.
The deal includes a 10 per cent sell-on clause.

Another done deal between two Premier League clubs as goalkeeper Dan Bentley joins Coventry to be back-up to fellow Englishman Carl Rushworth.
Dan Bentley has completed a permanent move to Coventry City after three-and-a-half years in Wolverhampton.
Thank you for your contributions, Dan, and best of luck for the future 🤝https://t.co/rMEPGWXu71
Manchester City have reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Allan Elias and the player wants the move, says Fabrizio Romano.
City have opened official negotiations with Palmeiras for the 22-year-old winger.
Allan is being eyed as a replacement for his compatriot Savinho who is Tottenham-bound.
Palmeiras want to keep the Brazilian who has a release clause of around £86m (€100m) in his contract.
Andoni Iraola has confirmed to Jamie Carragher for Sky Sports that Liverpool WILL sign players before the deadline.
The Spanish coach said: "We will definitely sign some players. Some deals you have to wait until the end.
"But the end is the important picture, the one we will have on September 1. Because it is true that we are still quite thin."

Aaron Anselmino, Tosin Adarabioyo and Mamadou Sarr could all leave Chelsea in the final days of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea want to loan Sarr out, ideally to another Premier League club.
The 20-year-old Senegal international has interest from elsewhere in England's top tier, as well as from Real Sociedad and clubs competing in the Europa League and Champions League.
Al-Hilal are also keen on Sarr on a permanent basis but Chelsea would rather a loan move to keep the promising centre-back on their books.
Tosin has interest from Benfica, Sevilla and Marseille, as well as numerous Premier League clubs, with Chelsea keen on selling the 28-year-old defender.
The Blues also want to offload Anselmino but on a loan deal for the upcoming season.
Adam Wharton will NOT be allowed to leave Crystal Palace in the next 11 days, says Pierre Sage.
The new Palace boss says the Eagles will block any bids for the English midfielder, who Man City and Liverpool have shown interest in.
We did it [sell big players] and now I think it's not the moment to do that. I think he (Wharton) is able to play at another club, at a big club here or anywhere in Europe, but I think one year with us, one year with a new dynamic, will be good for him and we need him. That's why I think he will stay with us.
We will see, and I hope he continues his improvement and he has other arguments to leave. That’s why we work every day and that's why he gives his best every day too.
Tottenham are now in advanced talks to sign Omar Marmoush from Man City and complete a spectacular double swoop.
Ben Jacobs reports that Spurs are optimistic of completing the deal soon after agreeing an £85m package for his City team-mate Savinho.
Manchester United boss Michael Carrick was asked about whether he wants a new left-back last night.
I just think we're looking to strengthen the squad. We're certainly working towards that, making the most of the situation that we have and trying to improve things and trying to move forward.
You know, I said the same thing to you last time. So, yeah, certainly trying to make the most of the opportunities to finish the window stronger than we went into it.
And I think we're a good way to doing that, so far.
Arsenal have completed the signing of defenders Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa.
The centre-back, 28, who can also play right-back joins for an initial fee of £51million with a further £4m in add-ons.
The Athletic report Konsa has completed his Arsenal medical and penned an initial four-year contract.
Konsa will help step in for the injured William Saliba who faces several months out.
Negotiations between Tottenham and Manchester City over Omar Marmoush continue.
But having agreed an £85m deal for Savinho, it's speculated that Marmoush could move for as little as £45m.
City paid £59m for the Egyptian in January 2025 but there's a reason they would be willing to sell so low.
Eintracht Frankfurt are said to have a 15 per cent sell-on clause on Marmoush.
And so having a significantly higher fee for Savinho than Marmoush means City receive more of the cash and the payout to Eintracht is lowered.
Having had a bid rejected for Yankuba Minteh, The Times claim that Liverpool also enquired about Real Madrid attacker Endrick.
The Brazilian, 20, thrived on loan at Lyon last season.
But the Reds have been told by Los Blancos they will not let Endrick leave despite signing Yan Diomande this summer.
Chelsea have agreed a deal to offload another out-of-favour player: Axel Disasi.
Crystal Palace have reached a verbal agreement to sign Disasi on loan, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The Frenchman, 28, is currently underdoing a medical at Palace, who will pay a loan fee and cover the player's wages in full.
Liverpool have had a bid of £50million rejected for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh.
And The Athletic say Minteh is viewed as an alternative to PSG's Ibrahim Mbaye.
The Reds are on the hunt for a right winger to replace Mohamed Salah.
Minteh is said to be keen on joining Liverpool if a deal is agreed but he is out injured until October.
Manchester United still want three more signings - and could get them all.
The Red Devils are trying to wrap up a deal for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba after a £60m plus £5m offer fell short of the Seagulls' expectations.
On top of that, they want a left-back, and transfer expert Ben Jacobs says they have been offered RB Leipzig's David Raum and Jorge Salinas of Racing Santander.
Raum is into the final year of his contract and at 28 would be a like-for-like replacement for Luke Shaw, whose Old Trafford deal expires in 2027.
That would allow United to still pursue dream target Lewis Hall, from Newcastle, next summer.
Jacobs also adds that United still want to snap up Leicester City youngster Louis Page after having a bid rejected for the midfielder.
Tottenham want to sign both Omar Marmoush and Savinho from Manchester City.
And it looks like they've finally brokered a deal for the latter, who they have wanted for over 12 months.
The Athletic say an agreement has been reached in principle for Brazil winger Savinho to join Spurs for £75million plus £10m in add-ons.
It is added that £5m of the bonuses are highly achievable.
