A firefighter has died suddenly at Elgin fire station.

Alan Kynoch, who was 53, had just come off night shift duty when he died on Friday morning.

Mr Kynoch, a firefighter for 27 years, had been with Grampian Fire and Rescue Service since 1993, after he moved from Strathclyde.

Chief Fire Officer David Dalziel said: "It was with the deepest sorrow we learned of the loss of Alan Kynoch. The service is the poorer for his passing."
