A deadly street takeover in Carson early Sunday morning left one man dead and two others wounded in a burst of gunfire.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies raced to Charles Willard Street and Harmen Avenue at about 3 a.m., where they found three people struck by gunfire.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel treated all three victims at the scene.

LASD cordoned off the intersection as distraught friends arrived and began arguing with deputies. Fresh rubber and debris from the takeover were visible at the scene.
