Two arrested after fire at house in Swindon
Two teenagers have been arrested after paper is thought to have been pushed through a letterbox in Wiltshire and set alight.
Police said a family were at home in Swindon on Sunday when they heard a knock and the fire alarm activated.
One occupant found the hallway on fire and got the others out through the back door.
A 17-year-old youth and a 14-year-old girl were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, and released on bail.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said firefighters had extinguished the blaze and nobody was injured.
He said initial inquiries indicated that the probable cause was burning paper or something similar causing a heavy lace curtain to ignite.
It happened at about 1820 BST on Kirkstall Close in the Toothill area of the town. The force is appealing for witnesses.
