Two men have been charged with murdering a teenager who died after he was attacked on Merseyside.

Neil Murphy, 18, was attacked by two men in Marie Curie Avenue, Bootle, at about 1500 BST on Saturday after he and a friend were chased from Glovers Lane.

Michael Sands, 22, from Beach Road in Netherton and Thomas Speed, 23, from Rimrose Valley Road in Thornton, have been charged with murder.

Both men are due before South Sefton magistrates later.
