Two men arrested on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life following a fatal house fire remain in custody.

Firefighters were called Ronsons Close in Cowes, Isle of Wight, just after 03:30 BST on Friday. Flames on the roof also spread to neighbouring homes.

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said his next of kin had been informed and were being supported by specialist officers.

The arrested pair being held are both 24 and from Cowes. A 59-year-old man, also from the town and held on suspicion of the same offences, has been released on bail with conditions while inquiries continue.

About 30 firefighters brought the blaze under control as it spread to neighbouring homes, with residents led to safety.
