Two women have been threatened and tied up during a kidnap and robbery in Newtownabbey on Friday.

At about 1800 BST three men entered a house in the Ballyfore area and threatened the women, one aged 64 and the other in her 20s.

A 25-year-old man was told to go to his work - a scrap metal dealers in Mallusk - and remove a substantial sum of money and take it to Glengormley.

The robbers remained with the two women while he did so.

No one was hurt in the incident but all three victims were shaken by their ordeal.

Detectives from the PSNI organised crime branch have appealed for witnesses to conatct them.
