The company has spent years building homes across Devon and describes its developments as "beautiful new homes" designed for modern living.
Court documents show Sarah Collins and Jonathan Marston, of Alvarez & Marsal Europe LLP, have been appointed as joint administrators.
Devonshire Homes is registered at Gotham House in Hammett Square, Tiverton, where it also operates from.
No explanation has been given for the administration, and neither the court notice nor the company has said what this means for existing developments.
The housebuilder has completed a range of residential developments across the South West over the years, with projects in towns and villages throughout Devon. On its website, the company says it is committed to creating homes that blend into their surroundings while delivering high standards of design and craftsmanship.
It also says its developments are carefully planned to meet the needs of local communities, with a mix of homes aimed at first-time buyers, growing families and those looking to downsize.
The administration was approved through the High Court of Justice Business and Property Courts in Leeds.
The Gazette notice lists the company's business as the construction of domestic buildings.
For now, it remains unclear what lies ahead for the firm or whether any of its developments will be affected. There has also been no indication of what the administration could mean for employees, suppliers or customers involved in ongoing projects.
The insolvency notice names Alvarez & Marsal Europe LLP as the administrators handling the case. People with questions have been directed to contact the firm's Will Chalmers using the details included in the published notice.
Devonshire Homes had not publicly commented on the administration, and no further details about the circumstances surrounding the appointment have been included in the official notice.
