UK construction company plunges into administration - in business since 2010
A UK construction company founded in 2010 has now entered administration. Coops EMBS Ltd plunged into adminstration on 16 June 2026. The company, started by Ian Cooper as Coops Electrical Limited, was based in Sheffield and provided electrical, mechanical, and building services.
Danielle Shore and Stephen Beverley of Leonard Curtis were appointed as joint administrators. It is understood jobs were at risk of redundancy, and the Daily Express has contacted Coops EMBS for comment.

Quoted by Insider Media, Danielle Shore, joint administrator at Leonard Curtis, said: "Unfortunately, a sale could not be secured for Coops EMBS and the company subsequently entered administration.
"Our immediate priority is to support employees through the redundancy process, safeguard the company's assets and fulfil our statutory duties to creditors."
A message on the company's website read: "Initially focusing on commercial and industrial electrical contracting, they expanded in 2020 to include mechanical and building services to meet client demand. In 2018, Martin Clawson joined as a director, bringing extensive experience in mechanical and electrical installations. Coops EMBS serves sectors such as commercial, industrial, sports, leisure, retail, health, and education."
Coops EMBS also provided renewable energy solutions, with a branch founded in 2023. The website said: "Coops Renewables Limited, founded in 2023, specialises in renewable energy solutions for homes and businesses across the UK. They offer expert services in solar panel installations, battery storage systems, heat pumps, and EV charging stations. Dedicated to sustainability, they integrate advanced, eco-friendly technologies to reduce energy costs and carbon footprints."
