UK Eurovision hopeful Josh Dubovie sets off for Oslo

British Eurovision hopeful Josh Dubovie is due to begin a 36-hour journey to Oslo in a bid to avoid delays caused by the volcanic ash cloud.

The 19-year-old is expcted to arrive in the Norwegian capital on Saturday ahead of rehearsals at the Telenor Arena.

Dubovie is due to perform That Sounds Good to Me, written Pete Waterman and Mike Stock at the finals on 29 May.

Last year's UK entrant, Jade Ewen came fifth with the Andrew Lloyd Webber penned It's My Time.

Phil Parsons, the BBC's executive producer for Eurovision, said: "Last week with the BA strike looming and the ash cloud heading towards us, I decided that flying was just too big a risk.

"Josh gets his first rehearsal on the Oslo stage on Saturday afternoon and we just can't afford to miss it.

"It'll take more than a volcano to stop us!"
