House of Reux is launching ThumFlix, a mobile-first vertical streamer, while adding four international titles and a new India co-production to its slate.

ThumFlix, set to launch later this year from the Atlanta-based company, will carry premium short-form scripted content and is intended to open new monetization and distribution channels for independent filmmakers worldwide. The platform represents a significant structural shift for House of Reux – founded by Telly Award-winning filmmaker Taylor Ri’chard – from independent production company into a vertically integrated media business spanning production, acquisitions, distribution and streaming technology.

On the production front, “The Good Son,” a six-part documentary series co-produced with India’s Sita22 Films, enters pre-production this week, marking the company’s deepest investment yet in South Asian storytelling.

The acquisitions haul covers four titles for North American distribution: Indian feature “Dilli Dark,” documentary “Zende: The Supercop,” Indian-American YouTube series “How to Make It in Mumbai” and Belgian feature “Holy Rosita.”

The company’s India ties have been forming for some time. Earlier this summer, House of Reux premiered “Pepper” at the 17th Kashish Pride Film Festival in Mumbai, one of Asia’s leading LGBTQ+ film festivals. The film was shot on 16mm Kodak stock with support from the First Flights X Kodak Short Film Fund.

House of Reux also remains in development on “Tryin’,” a feature adaptation of the bestselling novel “Trying to Sleep in the Bed You’ve Made,” which was previously developed through Academy Award-winning actress and director Regina King’s production company before House of Reux acquired the rights for a new adaptation.

The company is on track to release nine feature films across North America before year’s end.
