Viral video fuels rumored Browns feud between Shedeur Sanders and Jerry Jeudy

Ever since they drafted quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round of the 205 NFL draft — two rounds after drafting Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel, mind you — the Cleveland Browns have been arguably the NFL’s biggest sideshow.

Sanders has been a lightning rod since taking his first NFL snap, and despite showing real promise as a rookie while willing Cleveland to three wins in seven starts in 2025, the team doesn’t seem to want him to win its starting quarterback job — and it may not be alone.

Star wide receiver Jerry Jeudy made waves earlier this offseason when during a social media livestream he was asked who he wanted to be the team’s starting QB. He held up four fingers (Deshaun Watson wear No. 4), seemingly endorsing Watson.

Jeudy has since explained that the video was cut and doctored to look that way, and that him holding up four fingers was actually a response to a question about how old his daughter was.

But despite his explanation, some Browns fans are still convinced Jeudy doesn’t like Sanders. That theory, which began last year during a game against the 49ers when Jeudy chewed Sanders out on the sideline, only gained more momentum this week when a video hit social media showing Jeudy dropping a perfectly thrown ball by Sanders that hit him right in the hands.

Fans were quick to hit the comment section accusing Jeudy of trying to make Sanders look bad so Watson wins the job.

“The ONLY Shedeur conspiracy theory I might believe is that Jeudy don’t rock with him fr 😭,” one fan wrote.

“Gloves got stickum on it and he’s still dropping the ball. It’s definitely on purpose,” another scoffed.

“Jeudy taking under the table money to make Shedeur look bad still. Gotta respect the commitment,” a third fan stated.

“Every time Watson throws a pick, Jeudy drops a pass from #2 to keep thinks balanced,” one user noted.

“I told y’all the Cleveland Browns WR’s are getting paid to sabotage [Shedeur’s] career,” another user replied.

“He allergic to anything coming out Shadeur hands,” one fan quipped.

“He purposely don’t want Shedeur starting 😭😭😭🤦🏽‍♂️,” remarked another fan.

“Jeudy is clearly doing this on purpose now,” another fan commented.

Despite the fan theories, there’s no actual proof that Jeudy has any sort of a grudge against Sanders. Browns head coach Todd Monken will presumably start whichever QB gives them the best chance to win, regardless of how Jeudy feels.
