A World Cup first is going down in the Meadowlands.

On Tuesday, June 30, Kylian Mbappé’s 3-0 France will meet Alexander Isak’s 1-1-1 Sweden in the World Cup — for the first time in the clubs’ histories — at East Rutherford, NJ’s MetLife Stadium.

And, as of now, last-minute tickets are still available for this cutthroat, do-or-die round of 32 match that will send the victor to the round of 16…and the loser home.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats was $728 including fees on SeatGeek.

100-level seats start at $838 including fees.

“We’ve been labeled as favorites before and, after what we did in the last three matches, that hasn’t gone away,” France head coach Didier Deschamps said. “But it’s back to square one now…we have to face a team who have nothing to lose and can give us some problems.”

And, while Deschamps is rightly making sure his elite squad is fully prepared, oddsmakers list the dominant Les Bleus as an overwhelming -400 favorites on Tuesday.

Still, the Blågult remains confident about their chances.

“If you look at our history, we’ve beaten more formidable teams before,” Sweden assistant coach Sebastian Larsson told Reuters. “Even though it’s France, there’s reason to believe. And hopefully the players feel the same way.”

As noted above, Tuesday’s showdown will be the first time France and Sweden meet in the World Cup. Prior to this match, the clubs have played 23 times dating back to 1955. Les Bleus has won 12 of those battles on the pitch while Blågult took six. The other five were draws.

Although transit to the World Cup has undoubtedly been a hot topic, there are quite a few options to get to the Meadowlands for the games (rather than walk as some out-of-towners have suggested).

• Eat the $105 round-trip cost (slashed from a previously-announced $150) and take the NJT. Trains will be running back and forth to Secaucus Junction where you can transfer to the Meadowlands rail line, which takes you two minutes away from the Stadium.

• Board the official NYNJ Stadium Shuttle. Direct round-trip buses can be picked up at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Midtown East in Manhattan, and the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine Park-and-Ride in New Jersey. Be aware that tickets must be secured in advance through the New Jersey Transit World Cup platform. The major downside here? Potential traffic. The major upside? The Post reported that “round-trip bus fares for fans attending the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been cut by 75%…from $80 to $20.”

• Risk everything and book an Uber or Lyft. There are drop-off and pick-up zones outside MetLife. The major detractor here are likely exorbitant surge pricing and wait times. Proceed with caution here!

High-profile contests between all remaining clubs will go down at venues all over the U.S., Mexico and Canada this summer.
