World Cup 2026: Mexican wave turns to phone drop disaster

We are asking for your stories after a clip of a fan losing their phone during a World Cup celebration went viral.

A wave or Mexican wave is when a group of spectators briefly stand and raise their hands one after the other.

The result is a wave that travels through the stadium.

During Canada V South Africa on Sunday at Los Angeles Stadium, one unfortunate fan dressed in Canada's colours took part in a Mexican wave celebration only to drop her phone in the process.

The moment was captured on camera along with the woman's expression as she realises that her phone has fallen into the stand below.
