Of the 48 nations competing at the 2026 World Cup, 23 have now been eliminated following the conclusion of the group stage.

From the first 16 to exit, 12 finished bottom of their respective groups.

Czech Republic, Qatar, Haiti, Turkey, Curacao, Tunisia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, Uzbekistan and Panama all finished as fourth-placed sides in the group.

Iran, South Korea, Scotland and Uruguay have also been knocked out as the four third-placed sides with the worst records in the group stage.

South Africa, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, Ivory Coast, Sweden and Ecuador are the first seven nations to have been eliminated in the knockout stages after losing in the round of 32.
