You'll find one of the great acoustic sites in the old mill town of Worcester (WUH-ster), Massachusetts, home of Mechanics Hall. The hall was rescued from decay and near-obliteration in the late '70s, when it was being used as a roller-derby rink. Nowadays it's a top west-of-Boston concert venue, and a major stop for touring orchestras, which this spring included the Warsaw Sinfonia. We'll heard conductor (and composer) Krzysztof Penderecki, (kr-ZHIS- tawf pen-deh-RET-skee) lead the Warsaw Sinfonia and soloist Allison Eldredge in the Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor by Camille Saint-Saens. (WICN, Worcester)
