Count Binface to perform at Edinburgh Fringe after by-election defeat
Novelty politician Count Binface has announced plans to perform a one-off show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The self-styled intergalactic space warrior - who finished second to Nigel Farage in the Clacton by-election - is the alter ego of comedian Jon Harvey.
Count Binface received 9,455 votes compared to Farage's 22,239. His 26.9% share of the vote is thought to be the highest ever for a novelty candidate.
The show, called Face of the Establishment, is at the Pleasance on 26 August.
Count Binface has previously stood in four parliamentary elections and two London mayoral elections.
He has been on the same ballot as two sitting prime ministers during a general election - Boris Johnson in 2019 and Rishi Sunak in 2024 - and separately stood as a different character, Lord Buckethead, against Theresa May in Maidenhead in 2017.
He previously told BBC News his policies include building "at least one affordable house, nationalising Adele and bring back Ceefax".
The major parties did not field candidates in the Clacton by-election.
Harvey, an ex-BBC journalist, previously performed a stand-up show at the Fringe in 2018 and performed to crowds at Glastonbury in 2024.
The show is described as a "one-hour dose of political comedy and sci-fi satire".
